1. Bamboo is the new superfiber

A trip to ThreadsForThought in New York’s fashion district during Fashion Week revealed some unexpected new threads. Imagine your softest cotton or cashmere $150 t-shirt. Then imagine it’s bamboo. Threads For Thought supports several social initiatives with sales of its casual wear (not all of it is bamboo), sported by celebs whose faces you’d recognize on E! Channel. Finding a renewable as well as innovative and fashionable new fabric was on Threads’ hit list. Bamboo is infinitely renewable grows quickly and has a super strong cell structure. The finest were the supersofty tshirts, but when people like you start wearing bamboo, we can probably expect it not only as shirts, but jeans and everything else.

  2. Tesla Motors 100% electric sports car

Just picked up news on Tesla Motors from Robert Scoble’s site. The self-proclaimed Scobleizer took part in an impromptu road rally down Santa Monica against a Corvette. The news, of course, is that the Tesla is 100% electric and goes 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds. The gas savings might be obvious, but in case you’re wondering, the gas hog equivalent is 135mpg. The Tesla body is bonded aluminum extrusion and carbon fiber, so you can imagine what the other technologies are like. Bad news? The Tesla hits the street for $100,000, although a $50K version is in the works. Go to Scoble’s site to see the race video and test drive with Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
